If you’re keeping count, this is the third edition of the Angry Zen Master site. What started out as a humble little webcomic experiment has henshined into an all out entertainment blog. Let’s hop into the way back machine.

Angry Zen Master launched on March 27, 2005 as a gag-a-day comic strip. I love comics and I wanted to participate more actively in the medium. I had a webcomic years before AZM and had also been a colorist in the comic book industry but had left both to pursue more predictable work. However, comic addiction is not so easily broken. A few months after I had landed a regular 9-5, the call of the comics brought me back.

I felt the strip format was a perfect way for me to get back into drawing comics on a regular basis. But I quickly found that taking pot shots at the movie industry was all too easy. I decided that a format change was in order and on September 27, 2005, AZM became a story oriented comic.

The one thing that has remained constant throughout both versions of AZM is that the art continually changes. I have used AZM to continually experiment with different styles of art and story-telling. Things were going along just fine until this whole Erfworld thing happened.

Suffice it to say, version 3 of AZM is no longer focused on the comic. I plan on returning to tie up a lot of very loose threads that I have still lying around. But because all of my art energies (and time) are taken up by Erfworld, AZM must henshin into something else.

Obviously, blogging is a big part of this new version. That will continue as long as I feel I have things to say. I’m also interested in producing more audio and video content as well as some random art projects that I’ve been meaning to get out there. Keep an eye on that “xtras” link. As soon as it goes live, the madness will be unleashed.
